Food is reasonably priced in this economy. Fresh ingredients and well seasoned. My family's go to take out place

One of my favorite canto breakfast lunch spots. I used to go 168 tea shop down the block during college. This place opened after 168 tea shop. After all these years, 168 tea shop closed and this place still open. That is saying a lot. I believe it is because this place got better food but most importantly better service. The workers here has always been nice to me. I used to go few times a week. But now i live farther I go occasionlly. But every time i go they all remember me and always so nice to me. I highly recommend this place. P.S. Their hk milk tea is banging. my favorite

Been going to this spot for a long time now. It's got a lot of dishes and bakery goods. Very friendly people.

Was visiting family member at New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens. There were not a lot of dining choices in the vicinity. Need to walk pass hospital and up the block to look for more dining choices. Referred by Rich W. to try out 88 Canteen. Stopped by numerous times to grab a coffee to go. Nothing fancy about this establishments. Basic eatery place with tables and chairs. Sure gets busy at this place. Lots of take out. Cars just parked and patrons pick up bags of prepared food. Staff is really friendly as you walk in they greet you and very helpful when you try to order items. I got the cupcake which is $2.00 and large tea with milk $2.50. The cupcake was fluffy and huge compared to other cupcakes that I have gotten elsewhere. Will definitely be back for more of 88 Canteen cupcake. I saw some of the prepared food that patrons bought to eat at the table. There were Congee and noodle plates. Will try that next time I am in the area.

Here on Sunday morning! This place is popping! My kids love the pork chop sandwiches! It's fried perfectly crispy and the bun is perfectly soft and pillowy! I had the congee and fried cruellers. My son loves the fish balls and peanut butter rice rolls! We have been coming here for a bit, everything we have tried has been so delicious! Not many of these HK style cafes around anymore! This one is great! The service is also good, the ladies behind the counter are very nice! Thanks!

Best pork chop bun (sandwich) in town! At this small eatery, you'd find the service to be quick and friendly. For less than $5, you'd get a well seasoned, lightly fried pork chop sandwiched with lettuce and mayo in a toasted buttery bun. While you're munching on this crispy and tender pork chop sandwich, do yourself a favor, wash it down with an authentic HK style milk tea. Thank me later.

Delicious, reasonably priced food! My Chinese mom's favorite place for sponge cakes and hainanese chicken rice. Many go-tos for me - cheong fun with peanut butter sauce, young chow fried rice, beef chow fun and Singapore mei fun. Service is quick and friendly-cash only! ...and so close to NY Presbyterian! Highly recommend.

Don't worry about not speaking the language just come here and get the food the food tastes good I've been to many different Chinese places and this 88 canteen has great beef chow fun and mapo tofu

I'm back every chance I get. Simply love their breakfast and $10 lunch/dinner entrees. Only wish they were closer to my home. Bear in mind CASH only. I guess that's the only downside.
